National Environmental Performance Track Membership
Performance Track is a voluntary EPA performance incentive program designed
to recognize environmental excellence and reward businesses that demonstrate
strong environmental performance beyond current legal requirements.
Members of Performance Track improve the quality of our nation's air, water, and
land by setting goals to reduce their environmental impact and to better their
environmental management. Membership is open to facilities of all types
including major corporations, small businesses, and public facilities that are
steering a course toward environmental excellence.
Facilities applying to NEPT must meet the following criteria:
- An Environmental Management System (EMS) in place including a
completed Independent Assessment of the EMS.
- A record of compliance with environmental requirements as well as a
commitment to maintain the level of compliance necessary for the
program.
- Past environmental achievements as well as quantitative goals for
improving environmental compliance.
- A commitment to public outreach in the community.
- An Annual Performance Report for each year of membership.
CTI can assist companies gain NEPT membership. CTI’s services relating to
Performance Track Membership include the preparation and management of
NEPT application documents, as well as performing site inspections necessary
for entry into the program. If a facility does not have the required Environmental
Management System (EMS), CTI can install the system and also perform the
Independent Assessment required.
